Will look after the 14 – 19 network which will include:
  • WISE,
  • entry to schools promotion events
  • tacking onto other events
  • prize-giving evenings
  • prizes to school
  • linking in with EESW, Year in Industry, 6th formers, and all other initiatives
  • Further Education
  • University preparations
  • Career Wales Programme
  • Arkwright and other Scholarships as stands at present
Mr. D. Gwyn Griffiths

Responsibilities
  • To champion the cause of school children up to the age of 19
  • Liaise with the resurgent Mining Industry, particularly to encourage the development of necessary skills
  • To oversee technical awards to school children
  • Routes through Mining and the current Mining Industry looking at awards for the children of Miners to preserve the contact with that industry
  • Cover Career Teachers and post-graduates and events to attract the attention of such people
Mr. Lewin Morgan

Responsibilities
  • Will look after Bursaries, in all their forms, including those in all engineering education and through all the year groups and into Post-Graduate Awards, David Douglas, and Norman Thomas Travel Award
  • To relate all the other meetings to be attended
  • To list the level and extent of awards he recommends

  • Liaison between SWIEET and the Learned Society of Wales
    Support for SWIEET activities in universities (with Vernon Morgan)
  • Support for science, technology and engineering policy engagement and development
  • Support for history and heritage of science, technology and engineering (with Gwyn Griffiths)
Dr Gemma M Whatling

Responsibilities
  • Will promote the Apprentices programme and the development of sub-degree engineering educational opportunities with the various age groups establishment in Wales
  • To meet and progress the University side of things
  • Career Teachers education and liaison with Business and work experience to be pursued
  • Support for both Graduates and Peer Group pressures and interest
