- To champion the cause of school children up to the age of 19
- Liaise with the resurgent Mining Industry, particularly to encourage the development of necessary skills
- To oversee technical awards to school children
- Routes through Mining and the current Mining Industry looking at awards for the children of Miners to preserve the contact with that industry
- Cover Career Teachers and post-graduates and events to attract the attention of such people
- Support to the Coal Industry
